MOPAC applies protective coatings and paint for maintenance and new construction projects.
MOPAC applies protective coatings to steel and concrete to prevent the corrosion and erosion of structures and equipment. MOPAC utilizes products from manufacturers who are considered to be world-class and adhere to ISO 14000 standards to ensure high quality.
Products are specified for each project and are dependent on several factors. These factors include environment, temperature, pH, chemical exposure, substrate material, and timeframe. MOPAC assists in specification development, as well as, adheres to all manufacturer's recommendations and industry best practices for applying coatings.
Equipment Protection
MOPAC provides services which protect and prolong the service life of process equipment, such as, tanks, pumps, hoppers, housings, mixers, crushers, chutes, scrubber systems and waterboxes.  Internal and external surfaces in process equipment erode and corrode which leads to problems of vibration, product contamination, downtime and unnecessary replacement costs.
High performance abrasion and corrosion resistant composite materials, adhesives and sealants deliver surfaces superior to original substrate materials.  The repairs can be performed in place thereby reducing downtime. A representative sample of innovative products which enhance asset value include:
A novolac epoxy which protects austenitic stainless steel from stress corrosion cracking.
Cold applied machinable polymers replace open-flame welding in metals technology.
Thermal materials that can be spray applied to operating equipment in a matter of minutes reduce 400F surface temperatures to 100F for personnel safety and energy conservation.
Seamless polymer systems replace the high cost and the inherent weakness of traditional tile/mortar vessel linings and floor toppings.
MOPAC performs Tank Reliability programs for its customers. This service protects Cusotmer's storage assets and prolongs the expected life span of these assets. The Tank Reliability program services include:
Tank Reliability
Structural strengthening is performed by lightweight carbon fiber materials instead of steel splicing-which carries additional weight, expense and corrosion potential.
  • Non-Destructive, Ultrasonic Thickness Testing
  • Coating and Lining Inspection
  • Corrosion Survey
  • Insulation and CUI Analysis
  • Energy/Heat Loss Appraisal
  • Remaining Life Expectation
  • Reports and Database of Tank Assets
